Bio
Lier Liu is currently a second-year Civil Engineering and Geographic Information Science and Technology master's student at Georgia Institute of Technology. She received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of California, Davis.
She interned as a transportation engineer at San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) this summer, where she worked on:
special traffic permits (STPs) for construction/excavation activities;
plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) for capital projects;
occasional field checks.
During the first year at Georgia Tech, Lier worked as a Graduate Research Assistant on a transportation cross-asset management project and a flood risk prediction with text mining project at Center for Spatial Planning Analytics and Visualization. Starting her second year, she joined the School of Building of Construction at Georgia Tech, working on construction quality management and Micro-mobility E-bike projects.
